a {Dream} Come true {any packless dogs} « Thread Started on Mar 28, 2009, 11:21pm »
What are those smells? They seem to control me, pull me in and slap me across the face with thier temptation. I must find out what the are. Thus, I jump into the dumpster without another thought. I know the school will ring its bell soon and the children will pour out. I know if they find me I could be sent away to the pound. But none of that matters to me as much as the smells.
In the dumpster I find them, lunches, snacks, edible art things. Everything you could imagine a dog could feast on, is here. I am in heaven. The zoo, my home has many dumpsters like this, but the animal activists have made sure the garbage is wold animal safe, thus nothing has ever been as good as this. I feast, and am unaware of my surroundings
ooc: Just wanted to try out first person, tell me what you think, if its bad Ill change it in my reply.

Words could not express her hunger. Every step seemed to move her no where at all. Nothin' was going her way today. First, the blasted paperboy threw a newspaper at her, and now, her stomach was growling as if it were a lion or something. What next? The white fem walked slowly, laboring for each and every step. Just a little farther, she kept telling herself. The Samoyed sighed, looking toward the nearby school. Maybe one of the kids would give her something to eat if she looked cute enough. With a great sigh, the vixen walked to the school. She sat outside the gate, just waiting for a young child to walk up to her. When one finally came, Fortuna put on her saddest look, her eyes glossy and unblinking. Please, she begged.
Well, that did not work. The little child just stared at her for a moment before trying to kick her away. Fortuna moved just quick enough to dodge the young human's flailing foot. The person spoke, but Fortuna could not make out what he was saying. She was too distracted by her nose to care. The fem smelled the glorious smells of thrown-away food and such. Now, all she had to do was follow her nose to find it. The Samoyed walked carefully, trying to avoid seeing anymore of those children. She walked to the dumpster, smelling the rich, wonderful odors of the food. With much trouble, Fortuna leaped up and into the dumpster, grabbing a tossed sandwich with her teeth before leaping out once again. Something else had caught her attention, however. It was not the smell of food. No, not even close. A dog.
Maybe they could help me! she thought happily. After nibbling on her sandwich, which was delicious, she sat down on the hard concrete beneath her feet and spoke quietly, her voice melodious and calm. "Hello," her voice seemed to echo in the dumpster. Now, all she had to do was wait for an answer.
Fortuna
First person sounds pretty good to me! Whatever you want to do.

My ears perked as I heard pawsteps, they came closer, and pretty soon, a dog jumped into the dumpster where I lay. She didnt seem to see me and grabed a bit of food and jumped out. Rude much? I thought to myself shaking my head and returning to my meal. It was then her lyrics called out to me, and I got to my feet. I walked my large doberman body to the edge of the dumpster and peered out at her.
So this is the white flash of fur that disturbed my meal? i thought to myself before letting a kind smile cross my face. "Hello, Im... Domonique." I said, my voice kind, and gentle. Not to be confused with that mungrul Damien I thought. He was always messing with the femoras, and I didnt like it.
ooc: Im gonna have him try and get her to join the Zoo Pack, as he is the only member, and I read her profile, she is a loner, so a small pack will work good for her I promise tehe

Fortuna jumped at the first sound of the voice. It was a little shocking to her. She did not expect a reply so quickly. Domonique, she mused, That's a nice name. In fact, she rather liked it. Of course she liked almost every name. Unless it was something stupid like "Fluffy" or "Sunny". Then, she was just bothered. The Samoyed studied the male in front of her with her brown eyes, her puffy fur blowing slightly in the breeze. "My name is Fortuna," she said with her usual mellifluous voice. "It is truly a pleasure to meet you, Domonique." She smiled a little, turning her head slightly to listen to his reply. The Samoyed was exhausted, but dared not show it. She did not want to push herself onto Dominique. No...never. It just was not in her blood to do such a thing.
She was quiet for a time, waiting to see if Dominique would say anything. Her stomach growled again, and she glanced back toward the dumpster. "Excuse me for a moment," she said before leaping back into the dumpster and grabbing something else to eat. When she was out of the dumpster again, Fortuna had a nicely sized piece of meat in her mouth. Her white fur was now covered in trashed food and plastic debris, but the fem really did not care at the moment. All she knew was that her growling stomach was demanding food. Fortuna pulled at the meat, making sure there were no bones on which she could choke. After that, she bit down on the meat and tore it in two, eating half of it quickly to satisfy her hunger. The rest she left, offering it to Dominique if he wanted it.

My large head nodded at her words, taking in everything she had to say. Fortuna, it was an interesting name enough to me. I had always been fond of exotic things, thus my love of the zoo where I live, and my short turn romance with a common Saluki that ebtered the zoo a while back. She dissapeared shortly after our courtship and I was sure she had been caught by the pound. Sad really I was quite in love with her, but one must move on and grow from such experiances. "Ah, but the pleasure would have to be mine, as I am but a humble servant to my leage and you but a wandering princess." I was always poetic in the way I wound my words into another's ears. I found it made me as interesting as I found them to be.
When she left, I watched for a moment, only to hae to hide a humerous smile as she returned covered in trash and carrying a bit of meat. She took half for herself and left the other for me and my heart melted. Here she was, clearly a street-rat, as could be said, though she didnt seem to be one to me, and she offered me food. Me, who belongs to a pack in a gorious stretch of land that always provides food. Me, with an Alpha who would provide food on the scarse thought of thier not being food in the land. I knew I would be hungry later, true, but on my land there was food. Still an act like that should not go unnoticed and I quikly came up with a plan. "I am full dear princess, but my queen has probably spent all day on patroll, I am sure if you brought that bit of meat to her, and showed her your clear generosity and sweetness, she would welcome you into our pack with open paws.
I walked towards her as I spoke, and found myself apsentmindedly pulling the trash from her coat, sitting next to her on three paws, and batting at the bits of trash with the fourth. This was no way for a princess like her to look, but heaven forbid she do this herself when it could so easily be done by myself. I didnt mind and rather enjoyed doting on the young femora.

The Samoyed listened, a little perplexed by Dominique's peculiar use of words. It surprised her. She half expected him to be a cold, heartless brute. That's what she expected of a dog of his breed. And Fortuna was surprised at herself. She rather liked the way this dog spoke. It was...soothing. Odd, but soothing. It made her feel relaxed. Like nothing in the world could harm her in anyway. And she liked the nickname "princess." It made her smile and giggle. Maybe she could get used to this Dominique fellow. He seemed kind enough. Fortuna started to wonder about if he belonged to a pack when he spoke of his queen. He seemed fond of her. This "queen" had to be the alpha. Maybe she would accept Fortuna into the pack. That would make the Samoyed very happy.
"This 'queen' of yours...she is the leader of a pack?" Fortuna asked curiously. And hopefully. She wanted to speak with this queen. "Your pack must be wonderful. You speak well of it." The Samoyed was still trying to figure out how to ask him about the pack. Maybe he would figure it out on his own. She was like a spounge at the moment, soaking up Dominique's every word. Fortuna very much liked Dominique. It was surprising. She had never grown so fond of another dog in such a brief amount of time. It had taken her a few months to love Lyla like a sister. Lyla, the beautiful Best-in-Show Collie. If only Fortuna could see her face once again. Maybe the Samoyed could convince Lyla to join whichever pack Fortuna joins! Then again, maybe not. If she knew Lyla, then Fortuna knew better than to think of that. Lyla was a loner. Maybe she would join a pack. Fortuna was not quite sure about that Collie.
Her thoughts were drawn away from Lyla when she felt Dominique picking the trash from her fur. A little bold, maybe, but...Fortuna could not even think of the right words. Everything was so jumbled up in her mind right now. She was growing more and more fond of Dominique every second she was with him. Fortuna definitely would not mind being in a pack with him. And she hoped the alpha would not mind either. Maybe Fortuna would go meet Dominique's queen.
